Geeta Arora, alias Sonu Punjaban has been sentenced to jail for 24 years by the Dwarka court in Delhi for her involvement in the kidnapping, human trafficking and prostitution. She has also be fined Rs 64,000.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Sonu has been sentenced under IPC Acts 328, 342, 366A, 372, 373, 120B, along with 4, 5 and 6 Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act.<\/p>\n

The Dwarka court also sentenced Sonu’s associate Sandeep Bedwal to 20 years imprisonment and Rs 64,000 fine. He has been sentenced under IPC Acts 363, 366, 366A, 372, 376, and 120B.<\/p>\n

Sonu has been convicted under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.<\/p>\n

The incident goes back to 2009 when Sandeep tricked a 12-year girl to fall in love with him and then took her to a woman named Seema on the pretext of marriage.<\/p>\n

According to the girl, she was raped by Sandeep and was sold to Seema. Seema had then forced her into prostitution and had also sold her to Sonu Punjaban.<\/p>\n

Sonu reportedly used her for prostitution and before sending her to customers, she used to administer drugs such as proxyvon and alprex tablets.<\/p>\n

Sonu Punjaban was arrested by Delhi Police <\/a>after a six-month-long chase in December 2017.<\/p>\n

Punjaban’s network extended to many places across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.<\/p>\n

The Police investigation is still on as the officials are looking for the other people involved in the case.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
